[A-Radio in English] ABC Belarus on the release of the prisoners and the upcoming elections

On August 22, the Belarusian president Lukashenko signed papers to release all official political prisoners in the country. This includes the three anarchists that were still imprisoned. As Anarchist Radio Berlin, we talked with Anarchist Black Cross Belarus about their release and the upcoming elections among other things. Today Alexander Lukashenko has signed papers to release all official political prisoners in the country. This includes anarchists Ihar Alinevich, Mikalai Dziadok and Artsiom Prakapenko.

We would like to congratulate our comrades and thank everyone for the solidarity with them!

Repression in Belarus

 

 

Am Samstag, dem 1. August 2015, fand in Minsk, Belarus, ein unangemeldetes Punk-Rock Konzert in einem Waldstück am Stadtrand statt. Dieses wurde gewaltsam von den Einheiten der OMON sowie anderen (Zivi-) Cops nach ca. 2 Stunden beendet. Es ist die zweite repressive Maßnahme in dieser Form seitens des diktatorischen Staates seit Januar 2015. Von etwa 50 BesucherInnen des Konzertes wurden die Personalien aufgenommen; 3 davon müssen mit einer Gefängnisstrafe rechnen.

Mikalai Dziadok. Bitter taste of colony in Horki

Mikalai Dziadok has been held in the correctional colony in Horki for two months already. He was transferred there on May 12, after being sentenced to one year of imprisonment under Article 411 of the Criminal Code.

During this time the political prisoner has been placed in the penal cell five times and spent there 42 days. The reason for placing him there was that he allegedly violated the prison regime and refused from the work that didn’t suit him.

Belarusian prisoners’ news. June 2015.

In the beginning of June Artsiom Prakapenka had a long-term meeting with parents. Meeting continued 20 hours. During meeting political prisoner said that conditions in colony became worse. On 24 square meters now live 12 instead of 10 people. In colony Artsiom Prakapenka works as operator of machine for production of heat pipes and earns 50.000 rubles (3-4 dollars) in a month. Political prisoner doesn’t complain of problems with health.

Roman Bogdan is an antifascist from Brest. Arrested on April 1, 2015 on suspition of participation in the fight with neo-nazis that took place on May 8, 2013. Together with Dzmitry Stsyashenka they were charged with aggravated bodily harm and face up to 10 years in prison. In March 2014 Dzmitry Zvan’ko was sentenced on this case to 5 years of prison.
