“Andrea (N’Drea) was involved with Os Cangaceiros, a group of social rebels who refused the slavery of work and mercilessly attacked the prison system of France in the 1980’s and 90’s. In 1985, she learned that she had cancer.
She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Then in 1990, she walked out of the medical world for good to grasp her life and her death as her own.

Au lecteur,

Notre amie et associée Andréa apprend en 1985 qu’elle a le cancer. Après opération, rayons et chimiothérapie, elle n’a plus espoir de guérir. En octobre 1990, on lui propose un traitement expérimental ; elle met alors à exécution une décision qu’elle avait prise depuis longtemps, celle de rompre radicalement avec le milieu hospitalier et médical, cela pour garder l’initiative de sa fin. Elle écrit deux lettres, l’une aux infirmières, l’autre à son amie Bella. Son choix est fait. Elle rejoint ses amis pour y chercher une complicité par rapport à son combat, non par rapport à sa maladie. Elle va faire tout un flan d’une histoire banale.
