We are looking for contributions to all aspects of the event: gallery, evening programmes, talks/workshops and general crew.
Email: london@taaexhibitions.org

Nearest tube station is Latimer Road or Ladbroke Grove (Circle/Hammersmith & City lines). Buses 295, 316 stop nearby. If driving is a necessity then please use the car park for the leisure centre as no street-parking is available on Crowthorne Road.

Temporary Autonomous Art is an open-access explosion of creativity that has been taking over venues across the UK since 2001. These are places which break free of the sterile and closed-circuit nature of the traditional gallery and where traditional art forms sit alongside performance, music, spoken word and film as well as talks and workshops.

The gallery space will feature work by random artists.

Our evening entertainment programme from 8pm each day:
Tuesday – Opening night mash-up
Wednesday – Spoken word
Thursday – Film night
Friday – Live performance
Saturday – Live music

Talks and workshops will mostly be scheduled each evening at 7pm and throughout the day on Saturday. Check back for more details.

Additional sub-events:
Crux – Saturday afternoon (live electronic music/video performance with an open jam session)

In some cases we will be accepting work up to and during the event so we are unable to provide a complete programme; though one will be drafted up and published closer to the event.

What is a TAA?

TAAs are a riot of colour that is fully-inclusive and accessible to all. This not only opens the doors to a no-cost space to exhibit within but also encourages first-timers and the artist within us all. All contributions are welcome (space permitting) so please get in touch if you want to get involved. We also need crew, invigilation staff and general help before and during the event.

The birth-place of TAA was in squatted venues in London and for the first time we instead host the event in a legal space in order to better focus on the art. We will be hosted in a space reclaimed for artistic use by the charity Artcore. We intend for this extra transparency in our activities to bring in fresh blood and to use this shift as a pivotal point in discussions about the future of these events and free-space in general.

We will be continuing the open-access nature of a TAA event and are calling out to artists and creative beings to come forward and contribute to all aspects of the event. We want photography, painting, mixed media and sculpture for the gallery space which will be open throughout. We also want contributions for each evenings entertainment – the opening night mash-up, spoken word, short films, live performance and live music.

Space is very limited so please get in touch via london@taaexhibitions.org and let us know what you want to do. The event is free entry and so we do not cover any artist expenses. If you wish to enter work into the show then we ask that you also consider invigilating the space during opening hours and help with the installation and de-rig.

Disclaimer alert: Please note that unlike some of the previous TAA events we are being hosted in someone else’s space. We will not be able dramatically alter the building itself and need to restore it to its original state post-event. We sadly are also unable to house anyone in the space. We do not have any crew space and there is literally no street-parking available outside. We advise that you use public transport and plan to catch the last tube.
