RESPONSIBILITY CLAIM FOR THE ATTACK ON EXARCHIA POLICE STATION
At Exarhia Square, just like everywhere, the state sells drugs, as a
part of their strategy for control, alienation, subjugation, misery and
finally the extinction of mainly the young proletariat, as well as a
product for reaping huge economic profit, from the state itself and its
employees the cops-judges as well as the trafficking network which is
controlled by decentralized authorities. This truth is so obvious, that
the systemic styli even accept it. But even these “recognized truths”
are subdued before the huge profitability produced by the biggest drug
spot in Athens. The case of the “Noor 1” ship is maybe the most telling
example of this claim.
If for some, freedom is connected with the situation that prevails in
the Square, they should know that this relative “freedom’ they enjoy is
a product of tough laws that govern the free market of drugs,
trafficking, bouncers, rot and decay. The “ungoverned state” of Exarhia,
the capital of “lawlessness” has its own bosses that spread death
amongst the youth. Exarhia square is sacred ground only for them. For
those who are economically intertwined with the police.
In Exarhia today, an area which for decades now is connected directly
and organically with the social political struggles, an area synonymous
with the radical critique and resistance to the choices of authority,
the target of the state is clear: military blockade by the heavily armed
forces of the MAT (riotcops), DELTA (armed motorbike force), state
security and anti-terrorist service, establishing the drug trade in the
emblematic, for the area and its people, Square, spreading the
phenomenon of lumpenization and social cannibalism, evicting the
structures of social self-organization, transforming Exarhia into am
aesthetically low entertainment space, of cheap and disciplined labour.
This is the clean Square the dominators dream of: a Square stripped
naked of its insurrectionary context, a Square surrounded by cops and
consumerist tables and chairs, where drug dealers will roam freely,
pushing their goods to their alienated customers. The discrediting of an
emblematic area for the anarchist condition naturally aligns with the
slandering and targeting of the entire anarchist milieu, as a mob of
hooligans, drug-addicts, and sometimes provocateurs or antisocial
elements.
The state and capital for years now have fought to impose this image of
the Square, a Square of drugs and destitute alienation, utilizing all
those mechanisms money and control of oppressive mechanisms provides it
with. Besides, it is them, state, drug dealers and cops who co-decide
and create the drug spots and not the users who go there for their dose.
The square-asylum is an asylum of drug dealers and traffickers and not
their victims. An asylum for the perpetrator and not the victim.
We all remember in the recent past when the DELTA force in Exarhia
spilled the blood of the youth who were unlucky enough to be in front of
them after a demonstration, clash or aggressive action. The only ones
who remained untouched in these operations were the drug dealers who
continued their anti-social and criminal work. Two roads down from the
police-guarded offices of PASOK (socialist party), blossoms one of the
biggest drug spots, where just a few years ago anarchist student
Alexandros Grigoropoulos dropped to his death by the bullets of
uniformed cops.
And hypocrisy is in excess… For a few molotov cocktails against the
PASOK offices, there was a government episode when at the same time two
blocks down the road, massive quantities of drugs are sold daily with a
characteristic ease and with no precautions. Faithful to our strategy of
disturbing the smooth circulation of drugs in Exarhia Square, on Sunday
14/4/2016 at 3.30pm, we found ourselves en masse outside the 5th Police
Station of Exarhia and we attacked the protectors of the trafficking
network, smashing and setting fire to their vehicles, the outpost and
the entrance to the station. The clash with the mafias and their
protectors is part of the wider social and class struggle against the
condition of misery and subjugation the state and capital want to
enforce on society.
We stress this again: the Exarhia of anti-capitalist and anti-state
action, the Exarhia of comradeship and socialization, the space of
freedom of those who fight to change a reality which is warring against
our dreams is a constant challenge. And we will not leave it as trophy
in the hands of the state, bosses and mobsters.
p.s. We cannot but express our undivided solidarity to the political
prisoners and those who fight in the greek prisons, dedicating them this
specific action, warning at the same time the police, that next time
they lay a hand on one of our hostage comrades, they will receive our
rage again.
