BLOC PARTY: REVOLT ON THE INSIDE, REVOLT ON THE OUTSIDE

The warm weather is here, and prison rebels are wasting no time to get moving. After the short-lived but intense revolt in Holman Prison in Alabama, Texas prison rebels called for a work stoppage to start on April 5th. That shit certainly kicked off, but for many obvious reasons communication from folks on the inside has been difficult. On the first day of the strike, officials from 7 facilities claimed that they were on “lockdown”, and as of the beginning of this week, there are still 4 on lockdown. Of course, we know this is just a bullshit way to obscure the strikes that are popping off in several facilities. All funds raised will fund the support of U.S. held political prisoners and the only public anarchist social space in Brooklyn.

And yet, as more elders age behind the wall, we lost two true warriors, Phil Africa and Hugo Pinell. To close the year, NYC ABC organized anoise demo outside of Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), in order to protest, celebrate, and let folks on the inside know they are not forgotten.
