[Montreal] For the proliferation of the balade: some thoughts on the anti-police demo in Hochelag’ – April 14th 2016 (en/fr)

After having participated in what was called as a demo against the police in Hochelaga on Thursday April 14th, we had the urge to share some reflections outside of our living rooms (towards yours perhaps?).

First off, we were fucking excited to see a flyer circulate that was calling for a neighborhood demo in Hochelag’. We want to be able to participate in moments of struggle in the neighborhood and not only downtown and/or in demos called on Facebook.

Ontario, Canada: Hundreds of Mink Released from Fur Farm

In the early hours of April 30, over 500 mink were released from their cages at Willow Pond Farm in Ontario, Bite Back reports.

This act of animal liberation comes about six months after the release of undercover footage from the same fur farm. That footage, released by the ALF in October of 2015, shows seemingly endless rows of caged mink. The communique that accompanied the video says that ALF members “witnessed injured mink with gaping wounds crammed into small cages that were covered in dirt and feces” at the Willow Pond mink farm. The posting of the footage online followed a string of mink liberations and other animal-related direct actions in Ontario in 2015. Read more about these actions in the article “Ontario, Canada: Escalation in Underground Action Against the Fur Industry,” Earth First! Journal, Yule 2015, p. 44.

Wreck 3 is Out!

wreck [vancouver]

Announcing the third edition of Wreck. We are putting this out with the aims to create an anarchist discourse within so called Vancouver. Anarchist discourse is dominated by those with the loudest voices, from those who have podcasts to others who engage in social media. We want to create our own narratives, specific to our conditions. An anarchist perspective encourages those to speak who have passion, being a man or having a university education is no qualifier for a valued opinion.
