Calais Jungle eviction Day 1; update on collaborators

They came at 7AM and gave people one hour to leave. 50 plus vanloads of CRS riot cops. 20 odd demolition workers with crowbars. Some bulldozers. One water cannon. To demolish the dwellings of 100-200 people, in one corner of the jungle. People fought with stones against uncountable rounds of teargas. Fires blazed in parts of the eviction zone. The first one apparently ignited by a tear gas grenade, others by residents fighting back.

War at the borders: Jungle eviction starts in Calais; fences down and teargas in Idomeni

This morning in Idomeni, at the Greek/Macedonia border, some of the thousands of people stuck on the Greek side of the closed and fortified border began to pull down the thick razorwire fences. (TV footage here.) The Macedonian police replied firing continuous rounds of teargas from the other side. Numbers have been building for days, as Macedonia and other Balkan states try to shut down the flow of people from Greece.

Marseille, France: Incendiary attack against luxury cars

In the morning of Friday 26th February at around 3:30am, we gained access to a ‘secure’ private parking serving a yuppie block in the 7th district, Marseille, and set fire to two luxury vehicles. A box of firelighters were placed under a front tire of each vehicle, which quickly ignited before bursting into flames as we departed, thereby bringing a brief “state of emergency” to the doorsteps of a bourgie few.

Cebete – Fedone, eri anche tu accanto a Demochole* il giorno in cui venne condotto dalla prigione al supplizio, oppure hai il resoconto di qualcuno?
Fedone – Non ero là, Cebete, perché i magistrati avevano proibito ai discepoli di Demochole di stargli accanto e le guardie stazionavano sulle strade per allontanarci dalla città. Ma Xantos, che era incaricato della sorveglianza della prigione e che del resto è un uomo gentile e giusto, mi ha raccontato esattamente quanto è accaduto.
Cebete – Cosa ha detto Demochole prima di morire e in che modo è morto?  Mi piacerebbe saperlo.
