Ieri nella baraccopoli di Quezon, nei pressi della capitale Manila, le squadre di demolizione mandate dal governo hanno lasciato per strada più di 50 famiglie. Alle prime ore del mattino, sul posto sono stati scortati gli operai da un ingente numero di poliziotti. Non appena entrati nell’insediamento, le forze dell’ordine hanno usato una violenza del tutto ingiustificata per eseguire gli sgomberi.

Philippines: more on anarchist solidarity with victims of Typhoon Haiyan

The Solar Guerilla Autonomous Response Team of the Mobile Anarchist School is launching a third mission to the typhoon hit region of Leyte in the  Philippines and is calling for any donations to help them out in this task. They have been distributing food, providing health care wherever they can, childcare and have set up solar powered generators to help people recharge mobile phones and torches, all completely free of charge. The Brisbane Solidarity Network have produced a pamphlet covering the first two missions with details on how to support this campaign.It can be downloaded here.

On November 8, 2013, typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda (local name) shot its landfall in the Philippines. Typhoon Yolanda is one of the strongest typhoons which struck Philippines on a record. It has sustained winds of 235 kph (147 mph) with gusts of 275 kph (170 mph) when it made landfall. By those measurements, Yolanda can be compared to a strong Category 4 hurricane in the U.S, nearly in the top category, a 5.

INDOKUMENTADO is a section of the Onsite Infoshop devoted to research and publication, it seeks to explore anarchism as distinctly practiced in the archipelago through the multi-disciplinary approach of science, social sciences, folklore and actual practices.  We are interested to trace this tradition of Philippine anarchism from the Pleistocene era to establish our basis for asserting non-hierarchical politics. We also want to learn from our prehistoric past, proto-history and documented history to regain our “own” self and identity.  From the wisdom of our primitive social relationships we can conceptualize development that upholds equality and forge a society free from patriarchy and ecology friendly.
