I write these lines to express how much I was touched by the widespread and polymorphous solidarity activity of comrades outside the prison walls.
Not only because its extent, imaginativeness, organizing-coordinating, tenacity and aggressiveness so far have surpassed all my expectations, knowing that significant state and capitalist buildings, and radio and television stations have been occupied, organized gatherings and demonstrations have taken place in almost all major cities of the territory, and attacks on the forces of repression as well as all kinds of insurgency attacks have occurred. But also because this is what breaks the solitude of my cell and makes me smile, because I was not imprisoned on Tuesday night, I was among you and felt the warmth of flaming barricades.
Because, whatever the outcome, the very existence of this front of struggle is a victory in itself, both for the immediate prospect of this fight and the legacy it leaves behind.
I know very well that the thousands of comrades involved in this battle that Nikos initiated, having many concerns but lots of determination, have vastly different understandings and practices between each other, but also with us. However, advancement flourishes through diversity. That’s exactly the meaning of anarchic solidarity; it connects without making identical, it unites without homogenizing. And whenever it is an action-oriented solidarity, it works.
Now that the mass deception media exclaim that, so long as the hunger strike is prolonged, it poses a threat to national security, I realize that no struggle goes to waste, and the gaps left by broken thoughts of despair – caused by the prolonged inactivity in the suffocating conditions of incarceration – are painted in meaningful colours again; insurrection is always timely.
Our dreams will become their nightmares.
Combative anarchy is awakened and roaring.
Nothing is over, everything begins now.
SOLIDARITY WITH THE ARRESTEES FROM TUESDAY RIOTS
To Nikos:
Brother, hold strong, you have disturbed their celebration quite well so far. You are not backing down, so they will. I’m standing by you until the final victory.
To [the minister of Justice] Athanasiou:
I am very hungry. If you murder Nikos, your throat will be the only thing good enough for me to eat.
