North Kurdistan / Southeast Turkey: In the context of ongoing clashes with Turkish ‘security forces’ in the Kurdish cities and towns that have declared autonomy from the Turkish state, the Bağlar police station in Amed (Diyarbakir) was targeted with an explosive attack late on the evening of 16.12.15.
While it’s being reported that the attack caused no injuries or loss of life, substantial damage to the police station occurred, one wall was completely demolished by the blast.
A short clash between guerrillas and Turkish ‘security forces’ took place after the blast resulting in a fire starting in the police station which was later extinguished. It’s been reported that following this brief clash that the guerrillas managed to escape into the night.
