Police Repression of Indigenous Protest Against Brasil’s World Cup

The whole area around the stadium is isolated from nearby roads and traffic was diverted; rubber bullets, sound bombs and tear gas were released BRASILIA – Hundreds of indigenous people and thousands of supporters peacefully marched towards the National Mane Garrincha Stadium in protest of the upcoming World Cup in an effort to block the roads.

We are sure that we did not come too late for the commemorations of April 1st, 1964. So here goes our simple gift to all the militarists and supporters (keeping silence is consent) of the ’64 coup which changes name, or form, but is not over. We brought our contribution to combative memory which does not make peace with either the militarists or democracy.

En marzo pasado la Casa da Lagartixa Preta estuvo llena de actividades y música. Las eventos eran por los 10 años de este espacio autónomo y anarquista.

Son 10 años de permanencia en el mismo lugar sin ningún tipo de relación directa con el Estado, con autogestión, apoyo mutuo y el respaldo de personas ay agrupaciones amigas .
