DOES WORK LIBERATE?

Work penetrates and determines our whole existence. Time flows merciless at her rhythm as we commute through identical depressive surroundings at an ever increasing pace. Working time…productive time…free time…Every single one of our activities falls within her context: acquiring knowledge is considered an investment for a future career, joy is transformed into entertainment and delves into an orgy of consumption, our creativity is crushed within the narrow limits of productivity, our relationships -even our erotic encounters- speak the language of performance and usability… Our perversion has reached such a point that we search for any form of work, even voluntary, in order to fill our existential void, in order to “do something”.

GRECIA: SALE DE LA PRISIÓN EL ANARQUISTA RAMI SYRIANOS – es/it

El 3 de junio del 2015, el anarquista Rami Syrianos fue excarcelado de las prisiones rurales de Cassandra (en la península de Calcídica, en el norte de Grecia).

El compañero fue arrestado en la ciudad de Tesalónica a principios del 2011, y asumio la responsabilidad por una expropiación de una empresa estalal de subastas de coches confiscados por la policía (ODDY). Fue condenado a algo más que 8 años de prisión, y tras permanecer 4 años y medio en prisión, le otorgaron finalmente la libertad condicional.

Il 3 giugno 2015, l’anarchico Rami Syrianos è stato scarcerato dalla prigione rurale di Cassandra (nella penisola calcidica, nel nord della Grecia).

Il compagno era stato arrestato a Tessalonica all’inizio del 2011, e si era assunto la responsabilità per l’espropriazione di un’impresa statale di aste di automobili confiscate dalla polizia (ODDY). Venne condannato a poco più di 8 anni di carcere, e dopo aver soggiornato 4 anni e mezzo in galera, gli hanno finalmente concesso la condizionale.

Greece: Anarchist Rami Syrianos released from prison

On June 3rd 2015, anarchist Rami Syrianos was released from the Cassandra rural prison (in the Halkidiki Peninsula, northern Greece).

 

The comrade was arrested in Thessaloniki in early 2011. He admitted responsibility for an expropriation against a state corporation (ODDY) that organizes auctions of vehicles confiscated by cops. Rami Syrianos was sentenced to a little over 8 years in prison. After 4.5 years of imprisonment, he was finally granted conditional release.

The text below is a political statement made by the anarchist Rami Syrianos during his trial on May 2012, for the expropriation of ODDY (a state structure responsible for organizing auctions of confiscated cars) on January 2011 in Thessaloniki. Τhe statement first appeared in the “Demolish the Bastille” zine (December 2012), published by the Solidarity fund for imprisoned and persecuted fighters. The comrade was condemned to 8 years and 8 motnhs, a penalty that he serves actually in the prison of Larisa.

Declaración política del anarquista Rami en el juicio (2012)

l compañero Rami Syrianos cayó preso después de atracar la subasta organizada por una agencia estatal (que principalmente negocia con los vehículos confiscados policía de tráfico y aduana) en Tesalónica, el 31 de enero de 2011. Rami leyó la siguiente declaración durante su juicio que terminó el 28 de mayo de 2012. La declaración fue publicada en el número 4 de la publicacón “Destruid la Bastilla” (Diciembre 2012), editada por la Caja de Solidaridad con lxs Combatientes Encarceladxs y Perseguidxs. Rami fue condenado a 8 años y 8 meses, actualmente se encuentra en la prisión de Larisa.

Greek prisons: Sudden transfer of anarchist Rami Syrianos

Anarchist Rami Syrianos was arrested in 2011 after an armed robbery against a state corporation that organizes auctions of vehicles confiscated by cops. He admitted responsibility for the expropriation, clarifying among others that he denies work and opposes to waged slavery. Rami was sentenced to a little over 8 years in prison, and has fought strongly on the inside.
On July 10th, 2013 the imprisoned comrade was transferred without any previous warning from Larissa to Domokos prison.
