– Spam emails that ask for passwords
DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD TO ANYONE; not even to the Espiv crew. This is a very serious matter! Oftentimes people give out their password to incoming emails that are completely spam bullshit. We have repeated this many times already: no one should give out their email password to anyone! No one must give out their email password; not under any circumstances; not even to (people that appear to be) the Espiv crew.
We are trying very hard to eliminate spam messages, but it is not so simple, nor can we ever stop or block them completely. Thus we say it one more time: DO NOT GIVE OUT THE PASSWORD FOR YOUR EMAIL ACOUNT TO ANYONE! In case some of you have been tricked in doing so, please change your password immediately right now. If you have any problems, please contact us.
– Change of passwords
It is advisable to not have to be reminded by someone else, but to bear in mind to change your own password for each of your online accounts at regular intervals. Please change passwords for email, mailing lists, discussion forums, blogs, etc. on a regular basis. If you have never changed your password for any espiv service, now it’s time to do it! – Mailing lists & Greek
Those of you who have problems in administrating lists (“it’s all Greek to you”) please change the language to English: from https://lists.espiv.net/cgi-bin/mailman/admin/ONOMA_ΛΙΣΤΑΣ/?VARHELP=language/preferred_language you may change the language from Greek to “English (American)” that will appear with question marks, and press the button with more question marks below. We are facing difficulty with the encoding of Greek, and there is no easy solution to it yet. Greek will be disabled in the near future. If you encounter some problems, or you need further instructions etc., please contact us.
– Mailing list archives
We would like to inform you about some changes that we will make over the next few days regarding mailing lists. The lists keep record of discussions and attachments. However, this is space-consuming, and raises difficulties in taking the backup at regular intervals as we do now; also for safety reasons, we decided to delete this particular archive. This archive can be found in the folders of each mailing list, and does not affect what has already been sent to personal email accounts. If you want to download the archive file of discussions to have it stored on your computer, this can be done through the Administration of the mailing list. We will proceed to this deletion in about two weeks, so if you want to download these files you still have time.
– Upgrades to discussion forums (smf)
Those of you who maintain discussion forums should proceed with any upgrades that the Administration section informs of. This is very important especially for open/public forums. If you experience difficulties, please contact us through https://espiv.net/en/node/45
– Backups
Users of espiv services should take regular backups. (Help recommendations on https://espiv.net/howtos/1)
– New security certificates for espiv.net & espivblogs.net
We have been convinced that we need to become revisionists and change certs 🙂 We have finally passed on to commercial certificates, so now all pages of *espiv.net and *espivblogs.net have a certificate that is accepted by 99% of browsers. This means that Mozilla or Chrome will no longer pop out a warning message whenever one visits a secure page on Espiv. If browsers still “complain” for certain pages on Espiv, please contact us. This change has also been made in espiv email. For those using some mail client like Thunderbird the same applies, as with browsers. It should not be asking you to accept the certificate when connecting with the Espiv imap/smtp.
– Planet.espiv.net
Over the past few years, we have maintained a “planet” on espiv.net, a page with the latest news (rss) of all the pages hosted on espiv.net. Nowadays, the bulk of material has become very large –and our time very limited– to renew (aka search pages and add them on the planet). This is why we will not maintain it in the same mode as before. Whoever does not see their page on the planet (http://planet.espiv.net – http://planet.espiv.net/es) can communicate with the administration team to request their page be added (or removed). You may email us at support@espiv.net, and cite the name of your webpage (e.g. Espivblogs) as well as the link of your rss feed (e.g. http://espivblogs.net/feed).

-Correo SPAM pide contraseñas
NO DAR NUESTRA CONTRASEÑA EN NINGUNA PARTE NI A NADIE.TAMPOCO A ESPIV… es muy serio!!!!!! La gente va y dá la contraseña a cualquier spam-estúpido que les llega. Lo repetimos, no den ningúna contraseña de su mail a nadie en ninguna parte. Ni siquiera a nosotros…
Estamos intentando restringir este spam, pero no es tan simple, menos cuando pueden cortar por completo.. entonces de nuevo: NO DAR LA CONTRASEÑA DE MAIL A NADIE!!!!!!! aquellos que ya están jodidos, directamente cambien el la contraseña..si tienen problemas contacten con el grupo..
– Cambio de contraseña
Sería bueno que no necesitara que recordarles a los otros, pero tenemos en mente cambiar las contraseñas en línea a intervalos regulares. En el mail, contraseñas de administrador de listas/foros/blog, etc. Si no has cambiado nunca contraseña en el servicio de espiv, ahora es el momento!!!! – Listas & helliniká
Aquellos que tienen preoblemas con la administracion de listas (les sale todo “en chino”), por favor cambien la lengua a inglés. Desde https://lists.espiv.net/cgi-bin/mailman/admin/Nombre_de_Lista/?VARHELP=language/preferred_language cambiamos la lengua de Greek en que está, a “English (USA)” que aparecerá con preguntas y apriete el boton con las -también- preguntas por debajo. Existe un problema con el encoding del griego y no hay una solucion fácil. El helliniká se desabilitará en poco tiempo. Si experimentan problemas, quieren instrucciones, pónganse en contacto con nosotros.
– Archivos de Lista de correo
Nos gustaría informar de varios cambios que haremos los próximos meses con respecto a las listas de correo. Las listas hacen su propio seguimiento de las conversaciones y archivos adjuntos. Debido al espacio que consumen, dificultades de backup que se hacen a intervalos regulares, y también por motivos de seguridad decidimos suprimir este archivo. Este archivo existe dentro de las carpetas de las listas y no afecta lo que se haya enviado ya a las cuentas personales. Si quieren descargar el archivo de conversaciones para tenerlo almacenado en su computadora esto pasa a estar dentro de la administración de listas. Haremos este movimiento en cerca de dos semanas para descargar si quieren éstos archivos.
– Actualizaciones de foros de discusión (smf)
Los que mantienen foros discusión será bueno que continúen con aquellas actualizaciones propias e informen al equipo de admin. Especialmente los foros abiertos/públicos, es muy importante. Si se presentan dificultades, pónganse en contacto con nosotros mediante el formulario de informe de problemas https://espiv.net/bug_report.
– Backups
Preventivamente, pedimos por favor a los usuarios servicios de espiv que mantengan backups periódicos. Como ayuda, visiten la página de instrucciones en https://espiv.net/howtos/1.
– Nuevo certificado de seguridad espiv.net & espivblogs.net
Nos convencieron de hacernos revisionistas y cambiamos los certs 🙂 finalmente pasamos a certificados comerciales y así ya todas las páginas *espiv.net y las *espivblogs.net tienen un certificado que es aceptado por el 99% de los navegadores. Esto significa que no se quejarán más el Mozilla ο el Chrome cuando visiten una página de certificada de espiv. Si en alguna página nuestra continúa protestando, pueden ponerse en contacto con nosotros… El cambio pasó también al mail de espiv. Para aquellos que utilizan algún cliente de mail como thunderbird, tienen validez lo mismo con los navegadores. No les deberá preguntar más sobre la aceptación de certificado en la conexión imap/smtp de espiv.
– Planeta espiv.net
En espiv.net se mantiene los últimos años un “planeta”, una página con las últimas noticias (rss) de todos los sitios que que se hospedan en espiv.net. Por eso el volúmen se ha vuelto muy grande últimamente -y nuestro tiempo escaso-, la renovación ( =búsqueda de páginas y anexos allí) no se hará ya como antes. Quien no vea su página en “planeta” ( http://planet.espiv.net) puede contactar con el equipo de administración para que añada (o quite si no quiere…). Envíen en un email dirigido a support@espiv.net, con el título de la página web (por ej: Espivblogs) y el enlace (link) del rss feed con la publicación de la página (por ej: http://espivblogs.net/feed ).

-SPAM email που ζητανε κωδικους
ΔΕ ΔΙΝΟΥΜΕ ΤΟ ΚΩΔΙΚΟ ΜΑΣ ΠΟΥΘΕΝΑ ΚΑΙ ΣΕ ΚΑΝΕΝΑΝ. ΟΥΤΕ ΚΑΝ ΣΤΟΥΣ ESPIVΑΔΕΣ… ειναι πολυ σοβαρο!!!!!! κοσμος παει και δινει κωδικους σε οτι spam-βλακεια του ερχεται. το ξαναλεμε, δε δινεται κανενα κωδικο απο το email σας σε κανενα και πουθενα. ουτε καν σε εμας…
προσπαθουμε να περιορισουμε αυτα τα σπαμ, αλλα δεν ειναι τοσο απλο, ουτε ποτε μπορουν να κοπουν τελειως.. οποτε ξανα : ΔΕ ΔΙΝΕΤΕ ΤΟ ΚΩΔΙΚΟ ΤΟΥ EMAIL ΣΕ ΚΑΝΕΝΑΝ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! οσοι τη πατησατε ηδη, αλλαξτε κωδικο αμεσα… αν εχετε προβλημα επικοινωνηστε με την ομαδα..
– Αλλαγές κωδικών
Καλό θα είναι να μη χρειάζεται να μας το θυμίζει κάποιος άλλος, αλλά να έχουμε στο νου μας να αλλάζουμε τους κωδικούς σε ό,τι διατηρούμε διαδικτυακά σε τακτά χρονικά διαστήματα. Σε email, κωδικους διαχειριστών σε λίστες/φόρουμ/blog, κλπ. Αν δεν έχετε αλλάξει ποτέ κωδικό σε υπηρεσία του espiv, τώρα ήρθε η ώρα!!!! – Λίστες & ελληνικά
όσοι έχετε πρόβλημα στη διαχείριση των λιστών (σας βγαίνουν όλα “κινέζικα”), παρακαλούμε αλλάξτε τη γλώσσα στα αγγλικα. απο το https://lists.espiv.net/cgi-bin/mailman/admin/ONOMA_ΛΙΣΤΑΣ/?VARHELP=language/preferred_language αλλάζουμε τη γλώσσα απο Greek που έχει, σε “Αγγλικα (ΗΠΑ)” που θα φαινεται με ερωτηματικα και πατατε το κουμπι με τα -επισης- ερωτηματικα απο κάτω. . υπάρχει πρόβλημα με το encoding των ελληνικών και δεν υπάρχει εύκολη λύση. τα ελληνικά θα απενεργοποιηθούν σε λίγο καιρό. αν αντιμετωπίσετε πρόβλημα, θέλετε οδηγίες κοκ, επικοινωνείτε μαζί μας.
– Mailing list archives
θα θέλαμε να σας ενημερώσουμε για κάποιες αλλαγές που θα κάνουμε τις επόμενες μέρες όσον αφορά τις mailing list. Οι λίστες από μόνες τους κρατάνε αρχέιο των συνομιλιών και των συνημμένων αρχείων. Λόγω χώρου που καταναλώνουν, δυσκολίας στο backup που κάνουμε σε τακτά χρονικά διαστήματα, αλλά και για λόγους ασφαλείας αποφασίσαμε να διαγράψουμε το αρχείο αυτό. Το αρχείο αυτό υπάρχει μέσα στους φακέλους της λίστας και δεν επηρεάζει ότι έχει σταλθεί ήδη στους προσωπικούς λογαριασμούς. Αν θέλετε να κατεβάσετε το αρχείο των συνομιλιών για να το έχετε αποθηκευμένο στον υπολογιστή σας αυτό γίνεται μέσα από το
administration της λίστας. Θα προβούμε σε αυτή την κίνηση σε περίπου δύο βδομάδες ώστε να κατεβάσετε αν θέλετε τα αρχεία αυτά.
– Αναβαθμίσεις στα φόρουμ συζητήσεων (smf)
όσοι διατηρούν φόρουμ συζητήσεων καλό θα είναι να προχωράνε στις όποιες αναβαθμίσεις τους ενημερώνει στο admin κομμάτι. ειδικά για τα ανοιχτά/δημόσια φόρουμ, είναι πολύ σημαντικό. Θα βρείτε οδηγίες στο http://espiv.net/howtos/forum. Αν παρουσιαστούν δυσκολίες, επικοινωνείστε μαζί μας από τη φόρμα αναφοράς προβλήματος https://espiv.net/bug_report.
– Backups

– Νέα πιστοποιητικά ασφαλείας espiv.net & espivblogs.net
Μας πείσανε να γίνουμε ρεβιζιονιστες και να αλλαξουμε certs 🙂 τελικά περάσαμε σε εμπορικά πιστοποιητικά και έτσι πλέον όλες οι σελίδες *espiv.net και οι *espivblogs.net έχουν πιστοποιητικό που είναι αποδεκτό απο το 99% των browsers. αυτό σημαίνει ότι δε σας γκρινιάζει πια ο Mozilla ή ο Chrome όταν επισκέπτεστε μια ασφαλή σελίδα του espiv. αν σε καποια σελίδα μας, εξακολουθεί να διαμαρτύρεται, μπορείτε να επικοινωνήσετε μαζί μας… η αλλαγή πέρασε και στα email του espiv. για οσους χρησιμοποιούν καποιο mail client σα το thunderbird, ισχύουν τα ίδια με τους browsers. δε θα πρέπει να σας ρωτάει πλέον για αποδοχή πιστοποιητικού στη σύνδεση με τον imap/smtp του espiv.

στο espiv.net συντηρειται τα τελευταια χρόνια και ένας “πλανήτης”, μια σελίδα με τα τελευταία νέα (rss) απ’ όλα τα σαιτ που φιλοξενούνται στο espiv.net. επειδή ο όγκος έχει γίνει πολύ μεγάλος τελευταία -και ο χρόνος μας ελάχιστος-, η ανανέωση (=αναζητηση των σελιδων και προσθηκη τους εκει) δε θα γίνεται πλέον όπως πριν. όποιος δε βλέπει τη σελίδα του στο πλανήτη ( http://planet.espiv.net) μπορεί να επικοινωνεί με την ομάδα διαχείρισης για να προστεθεί (ή να αφαιρεθεί αν δε θέλει…). στέλνετε σε ένα email προς το support@espiv.net, το τίτλο της ιστοσελίδας (π.χ. Espivblogs) και το σύνδεσμο (link) απο το rss feed με τις δημοσιεύσεις της σελίδας (π.χ. http://espivblogs.net/feed ).
