Das Until it Breaks-Festival ist eine Solidaritäts-Veranstaltung gegen Repression und Knäste und für die Unterstützung kämpfender Gefangener. Dafür verwenden wir die Idee eines Tattoo-Circus. Doch was ist das überhaupt?

Der erste Tattoo-Circus fand 2007 in Rom statt. Die Idee dahinter wurde in den letzten Jahren in verschiedenen Städten Europas aufgegriffen und angewandt. So kam es zu ähnlichen Veranstaltungen in Berlin, Thessaloniki, London, Barcelona (und weiteren). Dabei geht es darum,  Tattoo-Kultur und unsere Kämpfe gegen die herrschenden Verhältnisse zu verbinden, um gleichzeitig finanzielle Unterstützung für diejenigen bereitzustellen, welche von den Autoritäten aufgrund ihrer Ideen und Taten eingesperrt wurden.

Einerseits stellen dafür verschiedene Tattoo-KünstlerInnen während drei Tagen ihr Können, ihre Kreativität und Zeit zur Verfügung, um sich auf eurer Haut zu verewigen und als Teil dieser Kämpfe einen wichtigen Beitrag zu leisten. Andererseits wird es über das ganze Wochenende verteilt diverse Infoveranstaltungen und Filme geben, die sich mit den Themen Repression, Gefängnis und den Kämpfen gegen diese Welt der Unterdrückung auseinandersetzen, damit wir unsere Kritik daran verbreiten und vertiefen können und um Diskussionen entstehen zu lassen, wie wir mit aller Entschlossenheit den Autoritäten entgegentreten können.
Konzerte und leckeres Essen sind natürlich auch Teil des Festivals.

Die gesamten Einnahmen aus dem Festival werden ausschliesslich zu Solidaritäts-Zwecken verwendet, es wird sich also niemand daran persönlich bereichern. In unserem Fall werden wir einen Grossteils des Geldes an den Solidarity-Fund (Tameio) aus Griechenland spenden.

Until It Breaks-Festival is a solidarity event against repression and prisons and for the support of prisoners in struggle. For this purposewe use the idea of a tattoo-circus. But what does that mean?

The first tattoo-circus took place in Rome in 2007. The idea behind it was picked up and put into practice in several cities around Europe in the past few years. There were similar events in Berlin, Thessaloniki, London, Barcelona (among others). It’s about connecting tattoo-culture and our struggles against the existing order and at the same time providing financial support for those of us being held captive by the authorities because of their actions and ideas against this system of oppression.

On the one hand during three days, several tattoo-artists will provide their skills, creativity and time to colour your skin and thus be part and make an important contribution to those struggles (How to get a
tattoo see HOW TO GET TATTOOED). On the other hand there will be different presentations and movies spread over the whole weekend on the subjects repression, prisons and our fight against this world of domination in order to spread and deepen our critique and to create discussions about how to confront the authorities with vigorous determination.

Concerts and nice foods are also part of the festival.

All the earnings will completely donated to solidarity purposes. In this case most of the money will go to the Solidarity Fund (Tameio) in Greece.
