Almost seven years after the Malandrino prison riot, some of the rebellious prisoners stand trial in the town of Amfissa.

Thousands of prisoners flourished on rooftops, in dark corridors and fetid wings almost in every prison across Greece’s territory. A spark was enough for them to shake off the everyday oppression, humiliations and absolutely demarcated unfreedom, like hell and high lightning, by crossing even temporarily the liberating paths of resistance and struggle.
The black smoke from the burnt mattresses, the damaged prison cells, the smashed physical infrastructure of the prisons, but also clouds of tear gases, a rain of plastic bullets and merciless beatings with the batons of humanguards and anti-riot squadrons, bear witness to the battles that took place.
However the vengefulness of Power toward those who challenged its rule did not limit itself to the broken and wounded bodies of prison inmates or the disciplinary penalties imposed on them inside the hellholes. Over the years, until today, Power dragged dozens of rebellious prisoners to civil courts, accusing them of various “offenses” that took place during the combatant mobilizations of those days in April 2007.
After nearly 7 years, some of the rioters of Malandrino prison are asked to pay the same price for those amazingly beautiful and strong days and nights, when the struggle met springtime without the distorting lens of walls or barbed wires.

Quando la primavera è iniziata al carcere di Malandrino …
Migliaia di prigionieri sbucarono sui tetti, nei corridoi bui e nelle ali fetidi di quasi ogni carcere del territorio greco. Una scintilla fu sufficiente per loro per scrollarsi di dosso l’oppressione quotidiana, umiliazioni e mancanza di libertà assolutamente delimitata, come l’inferno e grande fulmine, attraversando anche temporaneamente i percorsi di liberazione di resistenza e di lotta.
Il fumo nero dai materassi bruciati, le celledel carcere danneggiate, l’infrastruttura fisica delle carceri spaccata, ma anche nubi di gas lacrimogeni, una pioggia di proiettili di plastica e pestaggi spietati con i manganelli dei secondini e gli squadroni antisommossa, testimoniano le battaglie che hanno avuto luogo.
Tuttavia, la vendetta del Potere verso chi ha sfidato il suo dominio non si è limitata ai corpi spezzati e feriti di detenuti o le sanzioni disciplinari inflitte su di loro all’interno del buco infernale. Nel corso degli anni, fino ad oggi, Il potere ha trascinato decine di prigionieri ribelli ai tribunali civili, accusandoli di vari “reati” che hanno avuto luogo durante le mobilitazioni combattenti di quei giorni in aprile 2007.
Dopo quasi sette anni, ad alcuni dei rivoltosi del carcere di Malandrino è stato chiesto di pagare per quei incredibilmente belli e forti giorni e notti, quando la lotta ha visto la primavera senza la lente deformante di muri o filo spinato.
