This year, Insurgent Projections has the pleasure of organizing the very first Anarchist Film Festival in town May 23 and 24, during the Montréal Anarchist Bookfair. This is why we invite everyone to help us make festival succeed by participating. Submit your films of any length! We want pieces that are pertinent, original, independent, and linked either to struggles against oppression in any of its forms, or to the kinds of lives that rebel against it. These films need to be in line with the principles that we ourselves share with the Anarchist Bookfair

We want the Festival to be an event that is open to plurality of expression in any number of languages. We are asking, however, that there be subtitles in either French or in English in order for more people to appreciate your work.

Please accompany them with a short synopsis as well as an image, taken directly form the film or not, which might be used for promotional purposes in Festival materials. We also ask for a short text on the method of the organizing behind your cinematic creation and the team behind the film. This will allow you to elaborate on your practice as well as the steps taken in making the film and demonstrate how they integrate the festival’s values. Let us know if some of your team would be available and interested in offering a Q&A after the projection!
