On April 4th 2015, the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire prisoners announced the end of their hunger strike, anticipating that the mother and the partner of Gerasimos Tsakalos will soon be released from prison. Below are excerpts from their statement.
Today’s a day that a crack opens up in the walls of the prison world surrounding us. After 32 days of hunger strike, the mother of Christos and Gerasimos Tsakalos and Gerasimos’ life companion will shortly exit prison and be free again. (…)
This victory has not resulted only from the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire hunger strike. It is a victory of so many people in solidarity, who have broken the social tranquility with arson attacks, occupations, acts of sabotage, demonstrations, protest gatherings, unwarned interventions, and transformed the cities into a field of insurrectional moments and the occupied buildings into living laboratories of subversive situations. Today we end the hunger strike, having beaten the scarecrows of Power that wanted our relatives imprisoned. NEVERTHELESS, a hunger strike among the rest of the political prisoners is currently underway having put forward broader demands. The coming days are critical both for their health and the wager of overall anarchic struggle. (…)

Con un comunicado emitido hoy, 4 de abril de 2015, lxs miembros presxs de la Conspiración de Células del Fuego han anunciado que finalizan su huelga de hambre, considerando que su demanda de excarcelación de sus familiares ha sido cumplida:
Hoy es un día que abre una grieta en los muros del mundo carcelario que nos rodea. Después de 32 días de huelga de hambre, la madre de Christos y Gerasimos Tsakalos y la compañera de Gerasimos pasarán en breve por la puerta de salida de la prisión, libres otra vez. […]
Esta victoria no es el resultado solo de la huelga de hambre de la Conspiración de Células del Fuego. Es la victoria de toda la gente solidaria que rompió la tranquilidad social con ataques incendiarios, ocupaciones, sabotajes, manifestaciones, mítines, intervenciones repentinas, y transformó las ciudades en campos de momentos insurrectos y los edificios ocupados en laboratorios vivos de situaciones subversivas. Hoy finalizamos la huelga de hambre, tras haber vencido los espantapájaros del Poder que querían que nuestrxs familiares estén en prisión, PERO al mismo tiempo sigue la huelga de hambre de los demás presos políticos por el cumplimiento de las demandas más amplias que se han puesto sobre la mesa. Los días que vienen son críticos, tanto por su estado de salud, como por la apuesta de la lucha anarquista total. […]
