Man, in the western world, having now been cut off from the primary physical activities, consumes huge amounts of energy to satisfy his natural or artificial needs.
These needs and comforts are also covered by the power grid and electricity production, for the construction of which the extraction of mineral ores is required, while minerals or renewable sources of energy are used for the production, a dipole that leaves us indifferent as any “pure” green energy is not developed for the sustainability of nature and human and non-human animals, but for the viability of the techno-industrial system, the capital and its investments.
The electrical network is essentially a pillar of modern technological development, which is necessary for thereproduction of the authoritarian civilization and the industrial mass-society. Whoever comes between them and their welfare, will face the punishment and the vindictiveness of the system.
Anarchist Marco Camenisch was arrested in Switzerland in 1980 for a sabotage against an electricity pylon and a power production station. A year later, he escaped from prison and lived underground until 1991, when he was arrested in Italy in a road checkpoint. In 2002, while he was doing his time in Italy, sentenced for direct actions against high voltage lines, he was extradited in Switzerland to serve his original sentence. There, he was sentenced again for the murder of a Swiss border guard, an accusation he denies. At present, due to the intransigent attitude of the comrade and his refusal to compromise both inside and outside the walls, he faces prosecution in the context of the Italian police operation Ardire for inciting terrorist acts using the the Italian counter-terrorism law. Moreover, the Swiss state, giving a psychiatric connotation to his refusal to repent for his actions and to deny the anarchist ideals, doesn’t allow him to leave prison although he has served the necessary percentage of his sentence.
Realizing that the attacks of domination against those fighting for its destruction, even when they are orchestrated by certain states, compose the puzzle of the wider repressive strategy of capitalism. We believe international solidarity to be an integral part of the war against authority, so in the context of the three-days call for solidarity with anarchist Marco Camenisch, on Monday 22/6, we attacked with paint against a DEI (Public Electricity Company) branch in Agios Dimitrios and broke the windows and threw paint against the ItalianChamber of Commerce in Thessaloniki.
