A total of 721 cars were burned and 603 persons taken into custody during the nights of 13 and 14 July the Ministry of Interior announced in the evening of Wednesday, July 15.

The number of cars burned is up 23% from last year and that of those in custody jumped 68%.

In total, 723 people were arrested during those two nights. “Particularly mobilized, especially through Vigipirate, the police applied zero tolerance against these excesses”, a spokesman for the ministry told AFP.
