Bizarre checklist issued to National Action members after hate-filled letter exposed by Mayor

Far-right neo-Nazis who have threatened to cause race riots in Liverpool have issued a check-list to supporters ahead of their planned march in the city.

White supremacist group National Action warned in a letter to Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson that the city “will go up in flames” if its racist rally is banned.

More than 2,600 people have signed a petition asking for the march on Saturday in Liverpool city centre to be banned.

National Action has told members to bring facemasks, sunglasses and a “heavy-duty belt with heavy belt buckle”.

In a Facebook memo ahead of the controversial ‘White Man March’, National Action co-founder Alex Davies told associates:

• A “doorman-like stance” will be enforced, with marchers turned away if they are not clad in “black from head to toe” or are wearing “jogging bottoms or generally scruffy clothing”;

• Anyone who appears “dishevelled or intoxicated” will be banned;

• The march “will be conducted in silence” – there is to be “no unintelligible chanting, rantings or incoherent singing of football songs”;

• No-one can talk to the press – “if the press speak to you, they’re to be ignored”;

• The group will “defend ourselves without hesitation” if the marching column comes under attack.

The statement, posted on Facebook, reads: “As flags and standards will be natural targets […] they will be defended at all costs and are not to be surrendered under ANY circumstances.

“Remember, you have a RIGHT to self-defence.

“On the 15th all eyes will be on us. Anybody who is thinking of participating in the NA bloc should understand that they are ambassadors to the cause and should therefore act and dress like it.

“Our conduct will be under extreme scrutiny and we will rise to the challenge and give the best representation of National Socialism possible.”

Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson, who received a hate-filled letter threatening “a National Action-packed weekend of ethnically-enriched chaos and mayhem” if the march was scrapped, has called for a change in the law to allow him to cancel the event.

Currently, Home Secretary Theresa May is the only person with the powers to veto lawful democratic protests on Britain’s streets.

She is understood to be aware of the group’s threats and is consulting with Merseyside Police.

Mayor Anderson said: “These people are trying to blackmail me and the people of Liverpool into allowing them to stage a racist march which no-one here wants.

“We are proud of our diverse racial mix and I am appalled by this group. I will defend the right to freedom of speech until the day I die, but there is no place for anyone who seeks to incite racial hatred and violence.

“I have asked the police to halt the march and I am calling on the Home Secretary to allow me to forbid it before it even starts.

“The power to do so should lie with me. She doesn’t know this city as well as I do and cannot begin to fully understand what the people of Liverpool think about this group and their ideas.”

National Action claims 150 supporters – some allegedly coming from Russia, France and Germany – will be at Saturday’s march which will pass directly though Liverpool city centre.
