ŞIRNAK (DİHA) – State forces that have yet not been able to break the popular resistance in the areas of self-rule in Şırnak’s Silopi district have started to perpetrate executions in custody.

Whereabouts of Nejat Öden (18) remained unknown for the last three days since he left home to go to a neighbor, when he was believed to have been abducted by special operation police. His death was revealed by a photo showing his dead body.

The releated photo published by a policeman on social media, from account @galip0617, shows 18-year-old Nejat Öden’s lifeless body, with the following description “Endless thanks to the hands committing these carcasses, may you burn in great fires”.

Öden’s body has been taken to Şırnak State Hospital’s morgue unbeknownst to his family.

Turkish police officer using the account @galip0617 had previously shared a photo of 55-year-old İsmail Yevşan, father of four children, who had also been missing for four days in Silopi, and later turned out to have been murdered similarly.

Another woman massacred by state forces in Cizre

ŞIRNAK (DİHA) – Turkish state forces continue attacking civilian areas with heavy arms in Cizre district of Şırnak.

50-year-old Hediye Erden remained stuck in a relative’s house in Yafes neighborhood as it was targeted by artillery fire yesterday evening. The woman got wounded after a cannon shell hit the house during intensified attacks by state forces. The woman is reported to have died of blood lose as she couldn’t be taken out of the house due to gunfire.

The woman’s body will reportedly be taken to Şırnak State Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Speaking about the ongoing atrocity by Turkish military and police forces, HDP Şırnak MP Faysal Sarıyıldız called for an urgent end to the curfew in order for these mass killings to end. “While bodies of slain civilians remain on streets and cannot be retrieved for days because of state terror, Prime Minister says they killed no civilians. If these civilians are being killed by PKK, then why do police forces not allow people to receive their bodies, and shot them while attempting to do so? It is quite explicit who is killing the civilians here.”

A total of 26 civilians have been killed by state forces during the last 18 days of curfew.

Turkish police attack people marching to Sur

DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) – Police forces have staged a crackdown on thousands who gathered in the main Kurdish city Diyarbakır (Amed) today for a march to the central Sur district, which is set to be followed by another to Botan region.

The demo led by DBP (Party of Democratic Regions), HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party), HDK (Peoples’ Democratic Congress), DTK (Democratic Society Congress) and KJA (Free Women Congress) started in front of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality where thousands have started to gather as of early morning hours. HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, DBP co-chair Kamuran Yüksek, HDK co-spokesperson Ertuğrul Kürkçü, DTK co-chair Selma Irmak, KJA spokesperson Ayla Akat Ata and HDP deputies also took their place in the march.

Upon an obstruction by police on the way to Şeyh Sait Square, demonstrators started to head towards Galeria area for a press statement.

Police teams here staged a crackdown on the mass without any warning in an attempt to hinder a persistently denied gathering in protest at the government and state.

Nearly 20 people have been reported detained during the police intervention.

Civilian missing in Silopi for 4 days found tortured to death

 

ŞIRNAK (DİHA) – A body taken to Şırnak State Hospital’s morgue yesterday has been identified as 55-year-old civilian İsmail Yevşan who had been missing in Silopi for the last 4 days.

İsmail Yevşan, father of four, who lives in Nuh neighborhood of Şırnak’s Silopi district was reportedly killed yesterday. His body was later taken to Şırnak State Hospital’s morgue where an overcapacity problem continues causing further violations every day.

A photo purportedly shared by a policeman on social media shows Yevşan tortured and shot by a bullet in the head, and with a rope around his neck. Soldiers and policemen are seen near his dead body on a street.

Reports say that Yevşan’s body was found on 58th Street of Nur neighborhood, where 57-year-old Teybet İnan had been murdered by police forces last week. The woman’s body had remained at the scene for one week due to continued gunfire and attacks by state forces.
