ŞIRNAK – ANF

State forces remain mobilized in Şırnak’s Cizre district for the 72nd uninterrupted day despite the announcement of ending of operations two weeks ago when over 150 people trapped in several basements were savagely massacred.

Turkish forces that have withdrawn from Yafes neighborhood today have left ruins behind them in addition to the mass murder of dozens.

Hundreds of houses in the neighborhood are seen to have been demolished and rendered unusable as a result of artillery and tank strikes. Some other undamaged houses were looted.

Turkish military and police forces remain deployed in Kadıoğlu School and on the orbital road next to the neighborhood.

While some armored vehicles in the town are being dispatched towards İdil, it grabs attention that the convoy also involves trucks carrying military supplies.

On the other hand, state forces have demolished the graves of HPG and YPG combatants buried in Cizre Asri Cemetery in Dağkapı neighborhood. The grave stones were broken with sledgehammers and the barriers around the graves were all torn down. A convoy of Turkish armored vehicles are continuously patrolling around the graveyard.

The siege by state forces also continues on Narin, Akdeniz and Bostancı streets of Cudi neighborhood where bodies more than 150 people were retrieved during the last two weeks. Nobody is being allowed access to the scenes of the savage massacre as heavy construction equipment continue to remove the debris of the houses in the area.
