Ab dem 18.05.2014 werden mehrere hundert Aktivist*innen, Flüchtlinge und Migrant*innen aus ganz Europa von Strasbourg nach Brüssel marschieren. Die bestehenden Grenzen werden bewusst überschritten und in verschiedenen europäischen Städten sind Zwischenstopps geplant. Der Marsch beginnt mit dem Grenzübertritt von Deutschland nach Frankreich, von Kehl nach Strasbourg.
As resistance spreads through UK detention centres (Harmondworth, Colnbrook, Brook House and Campsfield in the last few days), it may be worth thinking about lessons from protests of the past. What kind of actions have been most successful, increased the power and spirit of prisoners, and won at least some demands and desires? And what kind of acts of solidarity can be most effective from the outside?
On Friday (2 May) over 150 detainees in Harmondsworth migration prison occupied the main courtyard in a sit down protest and began a mass hunger strike. On Monday (5 May) supporters held solidarity noise demos outside Harmondsworth and simultaneously at Dungavel (Scotland). Anti Raids Network intervene in immigration raid in West London.
On Tuesday (29th April), friends of the Anti Raids Network disrupted a Home Office immigration raid on a Middle Eastern restaurant in London SW1, near Hyde Park, shortly after 2pm. Two ‘Immigration Enforcement’ vans were parked up in a back street off Lowndes Square shortly after 2pm, and about 10 immigration officers with one Met police officer in tow barged into the nearby restaurant. The idea of the infomobile simply results from the fact of migration being phenomena in great motion. It leans on the already existing sister projectinfomobile in Greece (www.infomobile.w2eu.net).So to be able to meet migrants on their difficult journey at all these varying places across Serbia and other Balkans countries mobility is a necessity.
Behind this grassroots’ initiative, there is a non-hierarchical, self-organized, network of no-border activists with a small number of them working on it constantly on the spot.
