GRAPO members arrested in 2007
The First of October Anti-fascist Resistance Groups (GRAPO) were formed in the summer of 1975. At that time twenty members of the Communist Party of Spain (reconstituted) -PCE(r)-, underground party formed five months before, carried out their first armed action against the fascist security forces. On 2nd August 1975 a couple of Civil Guard members (a repressive military police force) were shot in the centre of Madrid. One of them was dead and another one seriously injured. It was the first strike back of GRAPO against the wave of fascist-inspired terror known as the summer of terror.

16 personnes ont été arrêtées ce matin en Espagne, dont 10 dans le Pays-Basque et 6 dans 5 autres régions espagnoles. Selon un communiqué du Ministère de l’Intérieur, ces personnes ont été arrêtées pour avoir défendu et encouragé des ’actes de terrorisme’ sur les réseaux sociaux. Les 3 groupes concernés sont l’ETA, les GRAPO et ’Catalonia’s Terra Lliure’.

El Juzgado de Instrucción nº 5 de A Coruña ha citado a Pepita Seoane Vaz a comparecer el próximo día 2 de junio a las 10,30 horas después de que la fiscalía de la Audiencia Nacional la imputase por un presunto delito de “enaltecimiento del terrorismo”. Pepita, madre del preso político del PCE(r) Paco Cela y de Suso y Carlos (ambos dos también ex-presos políticos), es acusada de “justificar a la banda criminal [GRAPO] como una respuesta a la violencia del Estado” y “menospreciar, calumniar y humillar a las víctimas” en una entrevista evidentemente capciosa y manipulada del periódico servil El Mundo publicada el 7 de julio de 2013. La petición fiscal puede oscilar entre uno y dos años de prisión.
