Estamos asistiendo al rearme espectacular del Estado, nuestro gran enemigo, cosa que hacen todas las clases dirigentes del mundo cuando quieren dar a la descomposición de sus fundamentos una apariencia de solidez. Sus excesos han paseado la verdad por todos los rincones del país: hoy en día no hay nadie tan ingenuo o tan desvergonzado que se atreva a negar que nos encontramos bajo un despotismo tan duro, envilecedor y difícil de soportar como el que hubo en tiempos de Franco, y a medida que pasa el tiempo, será peor. Nosotros estamos ahora dispersos, cuando no desmoralizados. Hemos entablado una batalla que no supimos librar como debimos.

That which forms an authentic wealth to safeguard for many—autonomy and difference—could be swept away forever by the imposition of an economic policy and the consequent social system. When we are presented with a single possibility while every alternative is kept from us by force, we cannot speak of freedom of choice in the face of an offer, but only of coerced obedience. The continuing production of our days on earth (with all their pleasures, tastes and hues), when a single model of life to which we are to conform is imposed on it, is the totalitarian abyss that many see opening before them.

Il 30 luglio era andata in scena una grande giornata di resistenza agli espropri del Cociv a Libarna e ad Arquata. Nonostante manganellate, cariche e gas lacrimogeni al gas CS per ore i militanti No Tav – Terzo Valico erano riusciti ad impedire che i tecnici del Cociv si avvicinassero ai terreni da espropriare. Come era stato dimostrato anche da un filmato che avevamo diffuso i tecnici avevano solo effettuato alcune fotografie da distante e in alcuni casi neppure dei terreni da espropriare. Una modalità incompatibile con il testo unico sulle espropriazioni di pubblica utilità.
