The slogans were ‘Artgerecht ist nur die Freiheit’ (species-appropriate is only freedom) and ‘Eingesperrt für euren Spaß’ (locked in for your satisfaction). Diese Institutionen reproduzieren die Normalität, in denen Tiere zu bloßen Schauobjekten in Zoos degradiert werden. In den artfremden und künstlichen Umgebungen in Zoos können Tiere ihre angeborenen, arteigenen Verhaltensweisen kaum ausleben. Die Haltung in dieser Form der Gefangenschaft – ähnlich wie andere Tierhaltungsarten – führt häufig zu schweren Verhaltensstörungen sowie zu erheblichen Schmerzen.
Die Aktivist_innen rufen dazu auf, dass diese Aktion nicht die letzte war.
