Estamos encantados de informar que ayer Eric ganó su batalla y tiene una bandeja vegana!! Eric agradece a todxs por la solidaridad que le dio fuerza para luchar. Dijo que sin la gente de pie detrás de él, no habría sido capaz de estar en pie para luchar por sí mismo! Cuando le entregaron su bandeja le dijeron: “Supongo que tus compañeros te dieron una bandeja vegana” Muchas gracias a todos!

Eric esta todavía muy enfermo. Él pidió la atención médica la semana pasada y todavía tiene que escuchar de nuevo si va a recibirlo. Él esta extremadamente fatigado y para mantenerse despierto tiene que obligarse a levantarse cada media hora más o menos y hacer saltos o algún tipo de ejercicio vigoroso. Después de todo lo que come él está experimentando dolor de estómago extrema. Eric también está experimentando pérdida de la visión y de vértigo extremo, pérdida de la memoria entre otros síntomas. Estos síntomas son muy graves y podrían indicar una deficiencia de vitamina B-12, que le puede pasar a las personas veganas. Los efectos a largo plazo de esta deficiencia pueden ser devastadores. Eric tiene que ser visto por un médico.

This is a poem Eric wrote last week during his struggle for a vegan diet. We are ECSTATIC to report that yesterday Eric won his battle and has a vegan tray!! Eric thanks everyone for the solidarity that gave him strength to fight. He said without folks standing behind him he wouldn’t have been able to be in a place to fight for himself! When they handed him his tray they said to him “I guess your comrades got you a vegan tray” Thank you so much everyone!!

Eric is still very sick. He requested medical care last week and has yet to hear back if he is going to receive it. He is extremely fatigued and to stay awake he has to force himself to get up every half an hour or so and do jumping jacks or some sort of vigorous exercise. After everything he eats he is experiencing extreme stomach pain. Eric is also experiencing loss of vision and extreme vertigo, memory loss among other symptoms. These symptoms are extremely serious and could indicate a deficiency in vitamin B-12 which can happen to vegan folks. The long term effects of this deficiency can be devastating. Eric needs to be seen by a doctor.
