Greece: Meat market vandalized (Thessaloniki, 09/06/2015)

In the evening of Tuesday, 09/06, we broke the glass windows of the meat market ‘Koutrakis Emilios’ located on Svolou street, in the center of Thessaloniki.

This symbolic action was executed both in regards to the 11th of June, international day of solidarity with eco-anarchists prisoners and in the context of the permanent war against the exploitation of nature and the commercialization of death. In this way we actively declare our solidarity with those who followed the path of direct action and therefore are now prisoners in the cells of democracy.

We chose to attack a meat market, which supplies other shops that sell murdered animals as we perceive it part of a huge industry. The meat industry is not a one-dimensional system, but is a complex process that begins from breeding and production units that capture, breed and raise animals, it passes through slaughterhouses and ends up in meat markets, in the neighborhood’s butcher shop and on the shelves of super markets as yet another consumable product. Death is the same no matter the terms it takes place in, at any scale, and no matter in whose plate it ends up.

For us, meat industry is one of the links in the chain of capitalist production and consumption in modern society, which has created a vicious cycle of  interdependence between humans and industry. Modern civilization aiming the continuous creation and satisfaction of fabricated human needs has been built and founded on the death of nature and all living beings.

By understanding that all industries make up a mega-machine, the attack must be global. Real freedom can only be achieved through the destruction of the existent rather than the self-management of the structures which capitalism has created.

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY, FIRE TO EVERY PRISON

WHOEVER FORGETS THE PRISONERS OF WAR, FORGETS WAR ITSELF

EVERYTHING FOR FREEDOM, UNTIL ANARCHY

ALF/ELF
