La sera del 23 febbraio 1986, in un viale della circonvallazione di Milano, la giovane vita di Luca Rossi fu stroncata dallo sparo di un agente della Digos, e il suo nome venne ad aggiungersi alla lunga serie di vittime accessorie di una delle prime “leggi d’emergenza” vomitate dalla Repubblica Italiana. Diversamente da quella dei tanti uccisi dalla legge Reale, la morte di Luca non fu però inghiottita dal buio: da quel giorno, amici, parenti e compagni convennero al risoluto impegno di contrastare l’osceno silenzio attorno alla schiera dei sommersi nel nome della legge. Tra i risultati che ne vennero, vi fu la redazione di 625, libro bianco sulla legge Reale.Materiali sulle politiche di repressione e controllo sociale dato alle stampe nel 1990 a cura del Centro d’Iniziativa Luca Rossi. Tre dei suoi componenti rievocano il clima di quei giorni e lo spirito di questa pubblicazione, nella Milano della seconda metà degli anni Ottanta.

The notes that follow spring from a need: that of reflecting together on the current situation with the aim of finding the thread of a possible perspective. They are the fruit of various discussions in which the critical balance of past experience, the dissatisfaction with endeavors of struggle now going on and hope for existing potentialities blended together. They are not the line of one group in competition with another. Nor do they have any pretense or illusion of filling the voids — of life and projectual passion — with any more or less formal agreement on a few theses. If they contain unpleasant critiques, it is not for the sake of advancing them as an end in itself, but rather because I believe that it is still necessary to say unpleasant things. Like all the words in this world, they will only find an echo in those who feel a similar need. In short, a small basis for discussion in order to reach an understanding of what we can do, and with whom.

Le note che seguono nascono da un’esigenza: quella di riflettere assieme sulla situazione attuale al fine di trovare il filo di una prospettiva possibile.
