“The day started off with the hunt meeting at The Royal Oak in Wineham. Saboteurs waited at either end of the road to see which way the hunt went. When they did move off we drove in front of them until they went into the field. One group followed the hunt whilst the other group drove round to the other side. At this point we saw a group of four deer running away from the hunt. We quickly jumped out, sprayed citronella and revved the landrover’s engine at the spot where the deer crossed the road. This masks the scent of the deer so that the hounds won’t be able to follow them.
