Tukijo is a farmer and activist from Kulon Progo, Jogjakarta, Indonesia. He was kidnapped by the state and jailed for 2 years and 6 months, after the bloom of resistence against the mega-mining project from Australian company backed up by the provincial goverment and police. Tukijo accused as kidnapper of two officers from the mining company and provocateur for disturbing social peace. He faced fake trials with fake witnesses in the court. He was active member of the local struggle and became one the leading figures in Kulon Progo at the time. Note from Solidaridad Negra: Thanks to some comrades who were able to travel from one city to another to visit the comrade Henry Zegarrundo, we were able to do an interview with him. To overcome the difficulties they carried out the interview during two visits, the first of which we made the proposal and left him the written interview so that he could respond in the same way. The second visit was to get his written responses and also share opinions-criterion about the repressive situation and about the solidarity of the anarchist-libertarian circles, collectives and movement.
After being imprisoned for almost 17 years nonstop, from the 8th of July 2013 onward I will be held in preventative detention (Sicherungsverwahrung, a form of “security detention” in Germany for convicts who have served full terms, but are still considered to be a risk to “public safety” and therefore detained past the end of their sentence). Sitting on the bedstead that has become one of the places where I can read and write, I decided to put the worries in my head into words.
