We urge them to immediately announce the closure of the facility so that no other foxes there are deprived of their liberty. To rob them of freedom and to abuse them as training tools is not acceptable for us.”

In the early hours of April 30, over 500 mink were released from their cages at Willow Pond Farm in Ontario, Bite Back reports.
This act of animal liberation comes about six months after the release of undercover footage from the same fur farm. That footage, released by the ALF in October of 2015, shows seemingly endless rows of caged mink. The communique that accompanied the video says that ALF members “witnessed injured mink with gaping wounds crammed into small cages that were covered in dirt and feces” at the Willow Pond mink farm. The posting of the footage online followed a string of mink liberations and other animal-related direct actions in Ontario in 2015. A total of 43 hunting seats have been overturned and damaged since the beginning of April near the towns of Wilflingen, Mengen and Riedlingen (Baden-Württemberg). One hunter told a local newspaper, “I assume that the perpetrators have nothing against me personally, but against hunting in general.”

Esto sin contar los peces. Tampoco entraban en esta cifra los miles de animales muertos para hacer abrigos, mutilados para fabricar jerséis, utilizados en experimentación, encerrados en zoos y circos para nuestro entretenimiento, torturados y asesinados en las plazas de toros… No entraban aquellos que se crían para ser expuestos en escaparates y satisfacer nuestros caprichos, aquellos que son capturados en el océano al otro lado del mundo para adornar nuestras peceras, aquellos que son aplastados deliberadamente por un pie que los considera demasiado insignificantes para compartir el suelo.

Foxes were freed from a similar facility in Hildesheim in December and June 2015. That facility stopped operating after the actions.
