HUNDREDS OF MINK SET FREE AT QUEBEC FUR FARM

According to media reports, during the night of August 19-20, hundreds of mink, perhaps as many as 3000, were released from cages at the Visons J.N.J. fur farm (1285 6e Rang) in Saint-Jude, Quebec.

In early August, the Montreal SPCA revealed that inspectors had found foxes and mink at the farm suffering from serious injuries and illness, including broken bones, broken teeth, eye and ear infections, and dehydration. Several animals were subsequently euthanized. The Montreal SPCA has asked the Ministry of Forests, Fauna and Parks to remove the animals from the fur farm, and that criminal charges be filed. The owner of the farm, Jean-Luc Rodier, has previous convictions for animal cruelty. (information from FinalNail.com)

MACHINERY SABOTAGED IN BADGER CULL ZONES

“In early July we visited many farms and shooting estates in both cull zones that we know are involved in the slaughter of badgers. We searched for, and found, vulnerabilities we’ll be able to use later. In 3 of these places we decided to take action that night. A blend of bleach and caustic substances were poured into the red diesel stores. Not only will this cause damage to the fuel system of machinery but we know the owner of one of these sites illegally uses red diesel in his 12 Reg Audi car.

We delayed reporting this to ensure the red diesel would have been used.”
