Observar el problema que actualmente se vive en la frontera, solo desde una perspectiva de la lucha contra el contrabando de gasolina y de alimentos, es por demás pecar de ingenuos frente a una realidad que va mucho más allá  y que tiene sus motivaciones en intereses mucho más ambiciosos y perversos, que sobrepasa nuestras fronteras y que forman parte del reacomodo de planes hegemónicos que ya están en plena ejecución.

President of Uganda threatens death to Protesters of Palm Oil land grab

President Museveni of Uganda has joined his support to Bidco and Wilmar. calling for Bullets to be used against those who protest the Palm Oil development on th eislands of Kalangala. The development has meant that 10,000 hecatres of virgin forest has been destroyed leaving environmental damage and economic hardhsip for the people. The words from Museveni come after a renewed protest against Bidco began earlier this year through twitter andYoutube. Further direct action against Vimal Shah the owner of Bidco is expected soon.

 

 

 

 

 

Canadian Supreme Court Rules Against Chevron and in Favor of Ecuadorians

The law has finally caught up with Chevron. Today’s unanimous decision from the Supreme Court of Canada opens the door for Ecuadorian indigenous and farmer communities to enforce their $9.5 billion USD verdict against Chevron and is a major victory for human rights and corporate accountability.

Macas ha vissuto una violenta mattina. Almeno 200 persone, armate di lance, hanno cercato di occupare la Direzione Distrettuale dell’Educazione, situata nella capitale del Morona Santiago. La Polizia ha impedito l’azione dei manifestanti, che hanno reagito con le loro lance e sparando.
