Autonomous March in Solidarity with Prisoners in Philly
Across the country, prisoners have been pushing back against the indignities of prison. In Texas, prisoners have been on strike against slave labor for almost one month. Bubbling tensions in Holman, Alabama have erupted into prison riots at least twice and are now taking the form of a work stoppage. Three facilities around Michigan have seen mass protests, with inmates refusing meals and skipping meetings with the prison staff in protest against food quality. Louisiana has also seen hunger strikes recently. All of these actions lead toward a nation-wide prison strike on September 9th, the anniversary of the Attica uprising.

Les faits se sont produits, dans la nuit de dimanche à lundi, aux alentours de 2 h 30. La maison d’arrêt de Montauban, située sur l’avenue de Beausoleil a été prise pour cible par au moins deux incendiaires.

In February 2015, we returned to publishing Fire to the Prisons. After a three year hiatus, we came back to this project with full force. Over a year later, we are happy to report that almost all of the 10,000 printed copies have been distributed across North America and abroad. Thanks to the support, donations, and contributions of comrades across the world, we were able to create a very loud voice.

Dalla stampa di regime (“Messaggero Veneto”, martedì 3 maggio 2016) si apprende che ieri, in Provincia, a un tavolo con i volontari, ma anche nel corso della visita dei Radicali nella struttura, si è saputo che sono stati stanziati i fondi da oltre un milione di euro per far partire il secondo lotto dei lavori in via Barzellini ad agosto o al massimo a settembre, cosa che il giornale di regime definisce “buona notizia”, festeggiando.

Pastora González Vieites es madre Xose Tarrío (preso FIES fallecido en 2005, autor del libro “Huye, hombre, huye”) e integrante de la Asociación Nais contra a impunidade (Madres contra la impunidad).
Hace unos días llegaba a nuestros oídos la noticia de que esta asociación ha sido denunciada por pedir el esclarecimiento por la muerte de Diego Viña, un chaval de 22 años que apareció ahorcado en el cuartel de la Guardia Civil en Arteixo (Coruña) en septiembre de 2004, que fue detenido tras una discusión con su padre (también Guardia Civil). El caso fue sobreseído, pero Madres contra la impunidad ha continuado todos estos años pidiendo justicia y el esclarecimiento de los hechos. Una de las protestas en este sentido es por lo que han sido ahora denunciadas.

Final update from Koridallos prisons 29/04/2016 – Athens
This afternoon, prisoners Fabio Dusco and Tony Nebu set fire to
isolation wing where they were held as a form of protest for their
incarceration there BUT also the mocking they received for last ten days
about their alleged transfer from there. The orchestrators of this
mocking was the prosecutor V.Marsioni who although admitted to Dusco
that he is illegally held in isolation she stated quote: “you are fine
here… what are you protesting about??” and sergeant V.Lambrakis who
constantly pledged that he will end this reasonless isolation and in the
end just let the days pass..
