L’universo carcerario è un universo totale, un insieme di luoghi fisici dove uomini e donne vengono tenuti prigionieri. Rinchiusi per la più gran parte della giornata. Nessun discorso, per quanto ricco di dettagli tecnici e approfondito, può descrivere l’orrore del carcere, fare capire che cos’è questa istituzione voluta dagli uomini per sottrarre alla società una parte dei suoi membri ritenuta colpevole di avere trasgredito alle regole. Vivere da carcerato questa esperienza è qualcosa a cui, dopo un certo tempo, ci si abitua, come alle cose peggiori che possono capitare nella vita. Nei compagni anarchici c’è un rapporto ambivalente con il problema dell’organizzazione.
Ai due estremi si collocano l’accettazione della struttura permanente, dotata di un programma ben delineato, con mezzi a disposizione (anche se pochi) e suddivisa in commissioni; e, dall’altro lato, il rifiuto di ogni rapporto stabile e strutturato anche nel breve periodo.
June 30 saw the release of Alfredo Bonanno and Jean Weir after 100 day’s detention, leaving in prison leaving only one of the original 19 anarchist comrades arrested in the ‘blitz’ operation carried out by various sectors of the Italian police in Sicily and North Italy at the end of March. The comrade still in prison (now in the ‘special’ prison Fossombrone in Pesaro) is Massimo Gaspari, sentenced to 4 years 10 months for possession of explosives after 50 sticks of gelignite were found in his home. Noi non possediamo una nozione fissa di tempo. Quella astronomica è una delle tante nozioni aritmetiche che vengono vissute dall’individuo in modo diverso e ciò in relazione alla sua situazione. In altre parole, il tempo è un problema relazionale. Anche la distinzione, certamente possibile, tra “durata” e “tempo” non sfugge a questa constatazione, la quale è tutt’altro che psicologica ma, al contrario, “sociale”. È la situazione sociale che condiziona la percezione del tempo, come per altro qualsiasi altra “percezione” dell’individuo. E ciò, ovviamente, nei limiti e nelle forme in cui questo condizionamento avviene, non nelle chimere e nelle fantasie dei deterministi e dei meccanicisti. Continue reading Tempo→

In order to dispel any ambiguity which might arise, I should like to make it clear that when I speak of armed struggle I am not basing myself on artificial divisions imposed by bourgeois laws where the throwing of dozens of molotov cocktails runs the risk of not being considered a situation of armed struggle by some comrades. It is not the technical instrument we use that qualifies an action as violent or not, but rather its perspective in the confrontation with the class enemy. To employ armed struggle means essentially to be ready to respond to State violence and exploitation blow for blow at every level. Introduction The Italian State had taken care to manage the vacuum left by the broken revolutionary movement long before revolutionaries started thinking about it. So anyone who starts shouting that any means are valid in order to free comrades from prison, should not complain afterwards that they find themselves standing alongside docile creatures who are no more than tools in the hands of power.
Recently in the Italian political scene truth and lies have been intermingled as never before, to the point of becoming a spectacle of different positions democratically produced by the government and the institutional opposition aimed at holding the attention of uniformed revolutionaries.
