Tyler has been released on bond.

Kevin Johnson (Kevin Olliff) and Tyler Lang are animal rights activists who were arrested in August 2013 in rural Illinois on state charges of “possession of burglary tools.” In November, after three months in jail, Tyler was released after accepting a plea deal and sentence of time served. In January 2014, Kevin was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison.

In July 2014, Kevin and Tyler were indicted on federal charges. In February 2016, Kevin was sentenced to three years in federal prison.

Lawyer Plans Constitutional Challenge in Mink Farm Sabotage Case

The lawyer for one of two California animal activists accused of sabotaging an Illinois mink farm and releasing about 2,000 animals into the wild last year said today he plans to challenge the constitutionality of the federal “animal enterprise terrorism” charges the men are facing.

Worsening Conditons for Kevin After Terrorism Charges

For the initial days following the July 10th AETA indictment, Kevin Johnson was still being held in general population at Vandalia Correctional Center. As of July 17th, however, he was moved into segregational custody at the prison. Since then, he’s had almost no contact with the outside world, aside from one letter he was able to send and phone calls with attorneys.
