Earth Lab: Community food garden and basic library

I am Noel Regachuelo, a designer and a community member of Grandview Heights Subd., Pacol Naga City Philippines., It is my noble intent to actively respond to the needs of our community, particularly, those of the youth and the children who deserves to be well-nourished in mind, body and soul.
In this regard, I am proposing a community food garden and a basic library project at the open section of the land on the left side of the basketball court and day care center of GVH community.

Local Autonomous Network or LAN is a network of autonomous activists and anarchists that has multiple activities in relation to their various campaigns and initiatives. Most of the affiliated activists whether groups or collectives are active since 1990s which sustained activities such as skills and information sharing through independent publications, video and audio/music recording, workshops, forums and conferences.

‘Panggayaw’ for Lumad self-determination and autonomy for other Indigenous Communities (Philippines)

 

There is quite a number of cultures existing and continuously practiced by different indigenous communities in the islands. It is estimated that there is 110 languages in the archipelago and the concept of “Manggayaw” or “Panggayaw” is commonplace. The said word is being used by indigenous communities in different areas in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. It corresponds with attacking from the waters or land on specific targets considered to be “enemies”.

Manggayaw or Panggayaw could be due to various reasons such as revenge, protection, raiding for marriage or pillaging for its own sake and slave trading in certain places.

Greenhouse Infoshop benefit (Amsterdam)

Monday June 15th 2015, Greenhouse Infoshop Project (Philippines) benefit, Volkseten Vegazulu, 7pm

‘Dear Friends, after almost 8 years of doing food not bombs (mobile soup kitchen), films screenings, free workshops and community grassroots organizing, the Greenhouse Infoshop Project is under threat of eviction due to financial crisis for the past months. Greenhouse Infoshop Project is renting a space for 2,000 pesos monthly due to our small income generated, we are in trouble paying the rental of the space this past month. But we cannot afford to stop what we have started.
