Il gasdotto o metanodotto TAP (Trans Adriatic Pipeline) dovrebbe compiere un tragitto di circa 900 km, partendo dal Mar Caspio per approdare nel Salento, sulla riva di San Foca (Le), per trasportare gas naturale. A fine giugno il consorzio di Shah Deniz in Azerbajgian composto, tra gli altri, da British Petroleum, Total e Statoil ha fatto la sua scelta a favore del Tap, preferendolo al progetto Nabucco che avrebbe dovuto percorrere Romania, Bulgaria, Ungheria, Austria. Il progetto Tap, holding composta da Axpo (svizzera), E.On (tedesca), Statoil (norvegese), è stato considerato di interesse strategico dal governo italiano e dall’Unione Europea e andrà a servire il mercato europeo del gas. Since the spring of 2013, the Mi’kmaq, along with Native and non-Native allies, have been resisting exploratory testing by SWN Resources Canada in New Brunswick. SWN, a Houston, Texas-based company, is searching for deposits of natural gas in shale rock formations. Far too many times, we as anarchists can get locked into ideology and blueprint making rather than thinking critically and acting to meet current challenges. The idea of challenging capitalism and the state was one that was relatively new to western civilization when the first people to be called anarchists in a political sense first put forth their ideas. We should not be satisfied to stop there. They didn’t face issues such as climate change, neo-liberal globalization, or peak production. That doesn’t mean we can afford to ignore those issues. Most early anarchists didn’t challenge extraction, economics, technology, domestication, agriculture, mass society, or civilization but that should not bar us from doing so.
No podemos concebir la destrucción de la civilización fundamentando nuestra lucha sobre sus propias bases ideológicas y, en este sentido, la separación entre hombre y naturaleza, tal vez sea la base principal. Mientras se hable de la sacralidad de la vida y se siga viendo a la naturaleza, a los otros animales y a los hombres, como algo distinto a nosotros, no vamos a llegar a ninguna parte. Refundemos nuestra lucha en nosotrxs mismxs, volvamos a considerar a la Naturaleza como el todo del que formamos parte y nuestra lucha individual llegará a ser una lucha real por la liberación del hombre, de la tierra y de los otros animales. Nuestra lucha es por nosotros mismos, es lo que nos da alegría y por lo que nada ni nadie nos puede detener o disuadir.
I DON’T KNOW about you, but whenever I attend some “green” conference, I know I’m supposed to leave feeling inspired and energized, but instead I feel heartbroken, discouraged, defeated, and lied to. It’s not the inevitable talk about farmers (re)discovering organic farming; about plastic forks made from cornstarch; about solar photovoltaics; about relocalizing; about the joys of simple living; about grieving the murder of the planet; about “changing our stories”; and most especially about maintaining a positive attitude that gets me down.
